The European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) replaces the Committee of European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Supervisors (CEIOPS) from 2011-01-01.
EIOPA is one of three European Supervisory Authorities and the European Systemic Risk Board.
EIOPA is based in Frankfurt am Main, and is an independent advisory body to the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union and the European Commission.
Supporting the stability of the financial system is one of EIOPA’s core responsibilities.
